ErgoSeat was born during the 2020 remote work boom when co-founders (a furniture designer and a physiotherapist) noticed their friends developing chronic back pain from working on dining room chairs. They spent 18 months prototyping with input from occupational therapists and ergonomics researchers before launching the Pro Mesh—a chair that delivered the adjustability of Herman Miller and Steelcase at a fraction of the cost. Their factory relationship allows them to use the same mesh suppliers as premium brands while keeping prices under $400.
